An Exciting Time

All over the world, excitement is building for hockey fans as the exhibition schedule is just a few weeks away. These pre-season games set the pace for the regular season, triggering interest by fans in their favorite team and sometimes providing an idea of just how well they will perform once things get underway in October.

The first pre-season action will be taking place on September 15th this year. Two games are scheduled for China this year with the Boston Bruins facing off against the Calgary Flames. While there is plenty on the horizon, there is a lot going on now as well. The few weeks ahead will feature training camps and lots of exciting roster changes.

The Gamble Ramble

One of the reasons why so many fans enjoy getting all the updates about exhibition events is that it gives them a heads up in the gambling world. Sports betting has become really popular, especially lately. Canadian NHL betting is especially popular.

Amateurs and experts alike tune into the latest pre-season developments so they can edge out a lead over the competition. There is a lot of that in Canadian sports betting, competition. So be sure to do your homework. The more you know, the better chance you can put that knowledge to use for profit. There are few better feelings out there than making money from something you already enjoy and are passionate about.

What the Future Holds

It can be hard to find a reliable NHL news site, and sometimes it takes hours of sifting through content to find the useful information that you need. That is why we put together a summary of some of the latest developments in the NHL. The heavy-lifting is done for you so you can spend all your extra time doing what you like.

Tyler Seguin – This talented center is due to become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career on July 1, 2019. According to Stars general manager Jim Nill, dialogue has already begun aimed at re-signing Seguin prior to next summer’s deadline.

Ideally the deal would have been done prior to the beginning of this season. But the Stars want to get this right and won’t rush the negotiations. Seguin is the player that the Stars rely on to consistently to drive the offence. That is why it is a priority for the Dallas Stars to get him re-signed. With the new coach Jim Montgomery and a manageable number, there is a very good chance that Seguin will be extending his stay with the team.

Artemi Panarin – The Blue Jackets forward is another player who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2019. To date, there seems to be little interest from the Panarin camp in re-signing with the Jackets. Many experts believe that the Blue Jackets will be looking to trade Panarin ahead of the February deadline. The Rangers and Lightning are seen to be prime candidates as a landing spot for the 26-year-old winger.

Erik Karlsson – The rumours attached to this on-going drama resurfaced this week. The Devils were named as a contender for the services of the elite defenceman even as part of a three team trade. And Karlsson let it be known to Elliotte Friedman this weekend that he wasn’t against signing a long-term contract with a Canadian team as had been reported. At this point a trade would seem to be merciful allowing Karlsson to escape the dysfunctional Ottawa Senators, but there’s no guarantee that it happens before the opening of the regular season.
