CBC News Release
TORONTO – October 31, 2011 – Violetta Afanasieva and Cale Hulse skated for their survival tonight on the Hallowe’en episode of BATTLE OF THE BLADES, but their performance fell short and they have become the fourth “iced” pair on this live competitive TV series. The pair Tanith Belbin and Boyd Devereaux, also in the bottom two, will continue to compete for their chance to win a $100,000 donation to their chosen charities, the Montreal Neurological Institute and Epilepsy Huron-Perth-Bruce.
One of the most decorated skaters in history, international figure skating superstar Katarina Witt provided her knowledgeable commentary on each pair’s performance as Guest Judge along with remarks from Head Judge Sandra Bezic and Resident Judge Jeremy Roenick this week on BATTLE OF THE BLADES.
