    From Canadiens.com (Manny Almela):

After knocking on wood to great results last season, the Canadiens are being swarmed by the injury bug these days.

With Mike Komisarek, Mathieu Dandenault and Christopher Higgins already on the shelf, the clinic is getting all the more crowded with the addition of Georges Laraque, Saku Koivu and possibly Carey Price. Head coach Guy Carbonneau had no choice but to take a deep breath and review the situation.

“Carey still wasn’t feeling well this morning so he went to see the doctor this morning,” said Carbonneau. “Georges is still battling a lower body injury. Saku is going to need an MRI and Chris is going to meet with doctors on Saturday morning.”

Reinforcements are on the way with Ben Maxwell getting called up from Hamilton.

“Ben was our best option since Kyle Chipchura is injured right now,” explained Carbonneau. “He did some good things during training camp and he will be playing with Andrei Kostitsyn and Matt D’Agostini. He’s an offensive player and we want to see what he can do.”

Injured against the Flames, Dandenault spoke for the first time having surgery on broken his left arm. “It’s frustrating, especially since I was finally getting the chance to play defense again,” admitted the veteran blue-liner. “Things were going really well. I’ll have to take this in stride and be patient.”

“My forearm is broken in three places,” added Dandenault. “I have a soft cast with a steel plate for now and it should take six or eight weeks to heal. At least I went out on a high note with the coaches.”
