Joshua Brook reads plays well. He is a solid two-way defenseman. While his overall speed game isn’t flattering, his edge work and quick bursts of acceleration allows him the time and space he needs to be effective.
Brook is not a puck rusher, but a quick pass-type puck mover. His vision and ability to consistently hit the tape of teammates with hard passes makes him effective at moving the puck.
Brook is a composed defenseman with the puck and shows patience when making a play out of his own end. He’s capable of keeping controlled gaps and excels in his defensive positioning.
Additionally, he is no stranger to the rough stuff on the boards or at the net front. He will be playing the top pairing defender role with WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors, which will help with his development. His upside is as a two-way middle pairing professional.
