With their fourth round selection in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, 87th overall, the Montreal Canadiens select:

Cale Fleury, D, Kootenay Ice (WHL)
November 19, 1998 | Carlyle, SK, Canada
6-1, 201 lbs. | Shoots L | @CJF_98
2016-’17: 70 GP, 11 G, 27 A, 38 PTS (Kootnay Ice)

CSB: No. 74 (NA Skaters) | ISS: No. 69 | HP: No. 69 | FC: No. 86

Cale Fleury is a smooth skater that does very well getting up the ice to create offence from the blue line. He excels at getting shots on net and engaging physically along the boards. Defensively, he needs to work on positioning and use his size more in front of the net.

He has not had much of a supporting cast around him in Kootenay to fully show what he can do. As a result, he has been guilty of trying to do too much at times. Fleury has quality leadership qualities, as demonstrated by his selection as team captain at age 17.
