Leafs acquire Hollweg from Rangers for 2009 5th round pick

The Toronto Maple Leafs swung a deal to acquire forward Ryan Hollweg from the New York Rangers on Monday.

The Maple Leafs sent the Pittsburgh Penguins fifth-round pick, acquired in the Hal Gill trade, to New York.

The 25-year-old played in 70 games for the Rangers in 2007/08 and scored two goals with 2 assists.

Hollweg played in eight of the Rangers’ ten games in the playoffs. He was originally selected by the Rangers in the eighth round (238th) of the 2001 Entry Draft.
