According to Toronto radio station AM640, the Leafs signed Swedish defencemen Jonas Frogren.
Frogren, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, recently negotiated his release from Farjestad of the Swedish Elite League and told a Swedish newspaper that he would sign with Toronto. Farjestad is the same team that coveted-forward Fabian Brunnstrom and former-Leaf Jonas Hoglund played for last season.
