Marc Bergevin and Yvan Cournoyer Join Forces in the Second Edition of Partageons la PUCK! to raise funds for Share the Warmth’s School Food Program

Montreal, Thursday, October 26, 2017 — Share the Warmth and Montréal Canadiens General Manager Marc Bergevin have teamed up again this year for the second edition of Partageons la PUCK, a charity hockey event to raise money for Share the Warmth’s School Food Program. The two teams, coached by Bergevin and hockey legend Yvan “The Roadrunner” Cournoyer, will face off at the Saint-Charles Arena (1055 Hibernia, Montreal) this Saturday, October 28, 2017, at noon.

“I got involved with Share the Warmth’s as ambassador in 2016 because I wanted to raise awareness about hunger and poverty in Point Saint-Charles, the neighbourhood I grew up in, where I live now, and a part of the city I love,” said Bergevin. “Partageons la PUCK raises money to ensure that no child goes to school hungry. Share the Warmth goes beyond food, helping with education and work training for anyone in the community who needs a helping hand in reaching their goals.”

The goal of this Saturday’s Partageons la PUCK’s is to raise $75,000 for Share the Warmth’s School Food Program, which helps feed hungry school children in Montreal. The organization aims to improve food security and health for all, while contributing to the overall development and success of children and youth. Throughout the school year, they provide healthy breakfasts, lunches and snacks to 1,700 children in 17 Montreal schools each week. Share the Warmth is actively involved in the community serving 1,400 people each month at their food bank, as well as 200 children in their music, tutoring and scholarship programs.

Partageons la PUCK kicks off at 10:00 a.m. with a free floor hockey game for neighbourhood youth with Hockey Canada. Bergevin and Cournoyer will be coaching these future hockey talents before coaching the adults who take to the ice at noon. Marc Bergevin and Share the warmth invite all Montrealers to come out and cheer on a good cause. Admission to watch the adult game is by voluntary donation.
