Habster:
Bob McKenzie stated that a deal for Marian Hossa could involve the Canadiens give up Maxim Lapierre, Mikhail Grabovski and Michael Ryder and possibly a draft pick. Montreal appears to be in the driver’s seat as far as having the assets (deep prospect pool, available UFAs and draft picks) where as the Senators and the Red Wings don’t have as many options at their disposal.
If this rumoured trade proposal is true and it doesn’t involve Christopher Higgins, then you make it……plain and simply!!!
Bob McKenzie also says the Ottawa Senators offer would include Antoine Vermette, Christoph Schubert and Nick Foligno which is a substantial offer as well…….we’ll find out before or at 3:00 pm but I wouldn’t be surprised if Don Waddell waits until the very end of the deadline to trade Hossa, hoping his trade value will increase and one of the 3-4 teams will ante up more for his big winger.
I agree Habster. This would be a great trade for Montreal. I like Ryder and Grabovski but this is much easier to live with than the players that Waddell reportedly asked for. Higgins, Emelin or McDonagh and possibly a 1st rounder is far too much to give up for Hossa. All three players will be stars on this team in the near future.
