Montreal Canadiens Alumni vs Greatest Hockey Stars

MONTREAL, QC — This upcoming Sunday, hockey fans will be treated with the chance to see some of their favourite players from the 80s and 90s, as La Classique des Étoiles l’Équipeur will get underway on the Bell Centre ice in Montreal at 1:00 p.m.

Newly added to the Canadiens’ alumni lineup is one Alex Kovalev, who recently announced his retirement.

Also featured on the bleu, blanc et rouge: Chris Nilan, Guy Carbonneau, Stéphane Richer, Steve Shutt, Sergio Momesso, Normand Dupont, Dave Morissette,  Gilbert Delorme and more, as well as a few current members of the Canadiens’ coaching staff in Jean-Jacques Daigneault and Donald Dufresne, plus a couple of Hamilton Bulldogs coaching staff “call-ups”: Sylvain Lefebvre and Patrice Brisebois. Guy Lafleur and Yvon Lambert will coach the Canadiens alumni this weekend.

Habs’ general manager Marc Bergevin finds himself on the opposing lineup, as Michel Bergeron and Jacques Demers will lead the Greatest Stars team behind the bench.  Gerard Gallant and Scott Mellanby will also trade their suits for hockey gear to join Eric Lindros, Raymond Bourque, Theoren Fleury, Luc Robitaille, Mathieu Dandenault, Marcel Dionne, Peter Stastny and many more.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Montreal Canadiens Alumni as well as the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation.

Individual ticket prices start at $29 and include service charges, and family packages are also available at $119, which gets you four seats in the red section, four hot dogs, four bags of chips and four soft drinks.
