NHL Twitter Rankings

MONTREAL, QC.–Twitter has become an essential tool of communication in the NHL between media, new and traditional, fans, sponsors, teams and the league. Within the media segment, Twitter communications are distinguished by a two-way engagement with the audience which is in stark contrast to traditional forms of print or broadcast journalism.

Twitter is also a democratic form of interacting with people. Those who are deemed to have something worthy to contribute to a community are “followed”.

So who is doing it well?

Just prior to the start of the NHL season David Staples, author of “The Cult of Hockey” blog for the Edmonton Journal, wrote about the kings of hockey coverage on the internet by ranking Twitter followers. You can read a review of his article here.

All Habs was ranked 12th in Staples’ survey and was one of two new media members in the top 15.  Interestingly All Habs was the only one who focuses on a single NHL team. Staples called All Habs a “monster of the ‘Net.”

Now CapGeek.com has added a section to its popular website called NHL Twitter Rankings. Selecting results for new media and mainstream media, All Habs is ranked 11th. You can view the top twelve hockey sources below, a veritable who’s-who of the NHL media world.

The entire All Habs team is proud of our efforts to establish relationships. We have done this via the All Habs Hockey Magazine, Twitter, the Montreal Forum discussion board and getting together with fans at Habs Tweetups. We are grateful to you, our readers, and would appreciate your help to further make connections throughout the hockey community.
