MONTREAL, QC – Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Club has signed defenceman Antoine Corbin to a one-year American Hockey League contract.  As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Corbin, 20, has spent parts of four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Prince Albert Raiders and the Kelowna Rockets, registering 70 points (25 goals, 43 assists) and 265 penalty minutes in 189 regular season games.  The 6’3”, 206-pound defenceman played two games with the Raiders this season and scored two goals before receiving an invitation to Bulldogs training camp.  The native of Kelowna, British Columbia led all Raiders defenceman with 12 goals during the 2011-2012 season while ranking second on the team with 25 points by a defenceman.  

Bulldogs training camp continues tomorrow, Thursday, October 11th, with a 10:00 a.m. practice at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton.  The ‘Dogs will wrap-up training camp with a practice at Wave Twin Rinks, located at 1179 Northside Road in Burlington, Ontario, on Friday, October 12th at 10:00 a.m.  The on-ice session at Wave Twin Rinks will be open to the public.

Following Friday’s practice, the Hamilton Bulldogs will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan where they will open their 17th American Hockey League season on Saturday, October 13th at 7:00 p.m. with a game versus the Griffins at Van Andel Arena.  The Bulldogs’ 2012-2013 home-opener is scheduled for Friday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. when they will host the Toronto Marlies at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton.
