HAMILTON, ONT – Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Club has signed goaltender Scott Darling to a Professional Try-Out Contract.  As per club policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Darling, 23, has played two games for the Nailers this season going 0-2-0 with a 5.40 goals against average and a .803 save percentage.  The native of Lemont, Illinois played 35 games for the Mississippi RiverKings of the Southern Professional Hockey League during the 2011-2012 regular-season recording a 15-17-1 record with a 2.92 goals against average, a .905 save percentage and one shutout.  The 6’5”, 212-pound goaltender spent two seasons from 2008-2010 playing for the University of Maine in the Hockey East  Division compiling a record of 25-20-6 with a 2.92 goals against average, a .895 save percentage and three shutouts.  In 2006-2007, Darling posted a .924 save percentage for the Capital District Selects, which was ranked first overall in the Eastern Junior Hockey League. Darling was originally selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the sixth round, 153rd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bulldogs’ next game is Wednesday, November 14th at 10:00 a.m. vs. the Rochester Americans at Copps Coliseum.  The game will air on TVA Sports.  All ‘Dogs games during the month of November will be broadcast on Hamilton’s Funny 820 (AM 820), with select games simulcast on Montreal’s TSN Radio 690 (AM 690).  Fans can also listen to and watch all ‘Dogs games on www.hamiltonbulldogs.com.  Live coverage with the broadcast team of Play-By-Play Announcer Derek Wills (all home and away games) and Colour Commentator Al Craig (all home and select away games) will begin with the Pioneer Pre-Game Show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
