Danny Kristo named to U.S. Men’s National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Col – Hamilton Bulldogs forward Danny Kristo has been named to the U.S. Men’s National Team for the upcoming 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championships May 3rd-19th in Stockholm, Sweden and Helsinki, Finland.
Kristo, 22, played nine games for the Bulldogs this season recording three assists and two penalty minutes. Kristo played 40 regular season games this season for the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association registering 52 points (26 goals, 26 assists), a +17 rating and 24 penalty minutes while ranking first on the team in goals and points. The 5’11”, 188-pound forward finished tied for second in the NCAA in goals and points while ranking third in the NCAA with six game-winning goals. Kristo was named one of the Top 10 Finalists for the 2013 Hobey Baker Memorial Award as well as being named to the First All-Star Team and First All-American Team.
The native of Eden Prairie, Minnesota spent four seasons with the University of North Dakota posting 161 points (68 goals, 93 assists) and 83 penalty minutes in 157 regular season games from 2009-2013 while helping lead the Fighting Sioux to three WCHA Championships from 2010-2012. Kristo was originally selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round, 56th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
