Defenseman played 55 games for the ‘Dogs last season

HAMILTON, ONT – Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Club has recalled defenceman Joe Stejskal from the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.

Stejskal, 24, has played nine games for the Nailers this season registering one assist and two penalty minutes.  The native of Grand Rapids, Michigan played 55 games for the Bulldogs during the 2011-2012 regular-season recording three assists and 26 penalty minutes.  Over two seasons in the American Hockey League with Hamilton, Stejskal posted three assists and 26 penalty minutes in 62 regular-season games while registering one goal in five post-season games.

Stejskal played four seasons for Dartmouth College of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference where he recorded 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) and 162 penalty minutes in 126 regular-season games.  The 6’3”, 208-pound defenceman was named an ECAC Third-Team All-Star in 2010-2011 while being named to the ECAC All-Academic Team in 2008-2009.  Stejskal was originally selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the fifth round, 133rd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The Bulldogs’ next game is Wednesday, November 7th at 7:30 p.m. vs. the Syracuse Crunch at Copps Coliseum.  The game will air on TVA Sports.  All ‘Dogs games during the month of November will be broadcast on Hamilton’s Funny 820 (AM 820), with select games simulcast on Montreal’s TSN Radio 690 (AM 690).  Fans can also listen to and watch all ‘Dogs games on www.hamiltonbulldogs.com.  Live coverage with the broadcast team of Play-By-Play Announcer Derek Wills (all home and away games) and Colour Commentator Al Craig (all home and select away games) will begin with the Pioneer Pre-Game Show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
