Official Release: Leblanc Returned to Hamilton

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today the Canadiens have assigned forward Louis Leblanc to the Bulldogs.

Leblanc has split this season between Hamilton and Montreal. In 36 games with Hamilton, the 6’0”, 190-pound forward has recorded 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) and 30 penalty minutes. In eight games with Montreal, the Pointe-Claire, Quebec native has recorded no points and four penalty minutes.

In 129 career American Hockey League regular season games with Hamilton, the 23-year-old has recorded 60 points (30 goals, 30 assists) and 113 penalty minutes. In 50 career National Hockey League games with Montreal, he has recorded 10 points (five goals, five assists) and 32 penalty minutes.

Leblanc was selected by the Canadiens in the first round (18th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Hamilton’s next game is scheduled for Friday, January 31st, when the ‘Dogs will travel to Abbotsford, British Columbia to take on the Abbotsford Heat (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) at 10:00 p.m. at Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. The Bulldogs will return to Copps Coliseum on Saturday, February 15th when they will host the Texas Stars (AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars) at 7:00 p.m.
