Coach Mike Babcock
- Coach Babcock confirmed that forward John Tavares will miss the remainder of the Olympics with a suspected knee injury.
- “We just kept talking about the hockey gods. If you keep doing things right you’re going to get rewarded.”
Forward Ryan Getzlaf
- “I thought our guys did a great job of keeping their composure and staying with it,” keeping taking things to the net. I thought we did a lot of great things. We just didn’t put the puck in the net. I mean, they’re there for a reason. They don’t just roll over and die. They were playing hard too. They played hard around their net, and I think that’s the biggest thing: those second and third opportunities weren’t there as much.”
Defenseman Duncan Keith
- “It was a close game but at the same time I think we controlled a lot of the play. We had good chances out there, a couple of posts and goals called back, plays that maybe would have gone in. At the end of the day, we are moving on and trying to learn from this game.“
Latvian defenseman Oskars Bartulis
- “We battled, battled and we battled hard. We gave everything but credit to Canada, they are great team plus it wasn’t enough for us.”
