CALGARY, AB — Future Considerations Hockey today announced that Igor Shestyorkin of JHC Spartak is the FC Double Blue Sports draft eligible Goaltender of the Month for October.
Shestyorkin, a product of Moskva, Russia, was superb in five starts last month, recording a 3-2 record with a 1.41 goals against average and .939 save percentage. His month was capped by a 19-save shutout against JHC Khimik on October 6th.
The 17-year-old got offensive in the month of October, too. Shestyorkin scored an empty-net goal in a 4-1 win on October 31st against Red Bull Salzburg, capping his 29-save performance.
Shestyorkin, who is 7-2-2 with a 1.08 goals against average and .955 save percentage this season, sits third among goaltenders and 59th overall in Future Considerations’ November ranking for the 2014 NHL Draft.
Also considered for the award was Ty Edmonds of the Prince George Cougars. In 11 starts, Edmonds recorded a 5-3-0-2 record with a 2.42 goals against average and .922 save percentage.
