Armada (finally) no longer perfect: Despite being up 4-2 in the third period and on their way to an 11th straight victory since they opened the 2013-14 season, the Armada fell 5-4 in overtime to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Sunday afternoon.  William Carrier completed his three-point contest with the overtime winner at 52 seconds of the extra frame. Cape Breton has now won two straight games and face Halifax tonight, while the Armada fall to 10-0-1-0 and head to Gatineau on Saturday night.

Remparts back on track: After a sluggish start to their season that saw them as low as second-to-last in league standings, the Quebec Remparts won three games in three outings to bump them up to 14th. Wednesday night, they beat the Baie-Comeau Drakkar 4-2 as Anthony Duclair scored two quick goals in the third period with the help of the man advantage. Friday night, he added a shorthanded marker against Acadie-Bathurst as Fabrice Herzog and Adam Erne scored Quebec’s other goals on the way to a 3-0 win. Finally, Sunday against the Moncton Wildcats, Herzog broke a 2-2 tie midway through the game and Nick Sorensen scored his first goal of the season to seal the deal, 4-2.

►Drouin to miss third straight game: Halifax Mooseheads’ forward Jonathan Drouin is out of the lineup with a groin injury and will miss tonight’s game against Cape Breton, in addition to the Mooseheads’ 4-3 loss to the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada on Friday night and 3-0 win against the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Based on their originality, enthusiasm and creativity, three lucky fans will be selected to participate in a trivia contest – specific to their CHL team – which will take place on the players’ bench during the second intermission. The first person to answer three questions correctly will be declared the BMO Ultimate Fan for his/her particular team. The winner will receive an autographed team jersey with BMO Ultimate Fan crested on the front, a $50 prepaid MasterCard, and gain entry into the grand prize draw for the trip for two to the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup in London in May 2014.”

Telus Three Stars of the Week

Anthony Mantha, LW, Val-d’Or Foreurs: The guy doesn’t seem to know how to stay off the scoresheet. This time around, the left-winger (who also signed his entry-level deal with the Detroit Red Wings this weekend) scored ten points in two games, split evenly between goals and assists. While he retained a +7 and recorded 25% of his team’s shots on goal, Val-d’Or also stretched their win-streak to five games with wins over Drummondville and Sherbrooke.

★★Brandon Whitney, G, Victoriaville Tigres: Whitney was named first star in both games Victoriaville played this weekend, both wins. He maintained a goals-against average of 0.50 and a save percentage of .981, as well as recording his first shutout of the season.

★★★François Brassard, G, Quebec Remparts: A big part of Quebec’s success this week was based on his performance. Wednesday night in Baie-Comeau, the Remparts’ netminder made 28 saves. He would only need 21 more on Friday to record his first shutout at the expense of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He followed up with another 21-save performance against Moncton. That total gave him a 1.33 goals against average plus a save percentage of .946.
