Game Recap:It wasn’t one of the better road performances by the Canadiens. They took advantage of weak goaltending by Toronto’s James Reimer and rode the strong netminding of Carey Price to hold off the Maple Leafs. It was an adventure each time the defensive pairings of Subban-Bouillon and Murray-Weaver were on the ice. Bouillon was guilty of a lazy giveaway that resulted in the second Leafs goal but coach Therrien saw fit to play Frankie Boo a ridiculous 25:10.

- “Both teams need those points. We were ready to play. They way that we started the game and we wanted to dictate the game and the way that we dictated the game gave us a chance to win this hockey game.”
- “[Rene Bourque] really responded well. This is what you want from a player the way that he responded. And he was hungry, he went to the net. He made some good plays. He was solid. I liked the contributions of that line with Danny Briere and Brian Gionta. They gave us some big goals.”
- “Carey (Price) gave us a huge chance to win this hockey game. He made some key saves and we could tell that our teams plays with a lot of confidence when he’s there.”
- “At this time of the year you need to be in a playoff mindset and our mindset’s like that.”
- “It’s a lower-body (injury for Lars Eller) and it’s day-to-day I guess.”

- “That was definitely a test of character. When a team scores in the third period to tie it up when they’re at home, you’re on the road, they grab a lot of momentum. And being able to grab the lead and then hold it with a good team effort like that is, I think, rewarding.”
- “It was a big game. Obviously everybody’s trying to collect points and make it to the playoffs, and when you have a divisional team like that, it’s definitely crucial to try and get those wins.”

- “They’re close. They’re close games. We seem to be coming from behind. We’ve talked about our starts, but tonight we fought back. We knew it was going to be a good game. Both teams need the points; it’s a crucial time of year. They found a way to get one more than we did. Tomorrow’s a new day and we move forward.”
- “It’s this group that’s going to get ourselves out of it. We’ve been close but close isn’t good enough right now.”

- “We clawed back into the hockey game and then we take a penalty early in the third and they score [ as the power play ended.] It was the difference in the hockey game, and the margin of error now in these games is so close that one bounce or one misplay or one unfortunate mistake cost us points.”
