Game Recap:With a sputtering offense, the Canadiens needed a shutout from Carey Price to secure the win. Rene Bourque was credited with a goal against his former team as Brandon Prust banked it off his leg and into the Flames goal. A key moment was a full two-minute 5-on-3 penalty-kill by the Habs — Josh Gorges, Douglas Murray and Price were solid.

- “[Ryan White] is an energy guy. He did a good job. I really liked the combination of that line with (Michael) Bournival and (Dale) Weise. They spent a lot of time in the offensive zone. They threw some pucks at the net. They did a good job.”
- “[Killing off the 5-on-3 penalty] was a key point. When you give up a 3-on-5 like that for a full two minutes, Josh Gorges, (Douglas) Murray and Brandon Prust — even at the end we put Brian Gionta out there — they did a fantastic job. As far as we are concerned, that was a key point. [The penalty-killers] take a lot of pride about being in the shooting lanes and made sure that they play solidly defensively. They were a big part of (our) success.”
- “When they got chances, Carey Price was there again. Again, Carey was really good.”
- “We knew that [Dale Weise] was skating really well. He’s good on the forecheck, good on loose pucks. I didn’t know him, honestly. But all the scouts did the reports that we got on him and this is exactly what I was expecting. I was really pleased with his first game.”

- “There wasn’t much offense in this game. It was one of those ugly goals that was going to win it.”

- “I was just so excited. This was my childhood team growing up so it was a dream come true to play here tonight.”

- “It’s crucial for us to get that goal on the 5-on-3. It’s not acceptable. Obviously we need to score there.”
