Game Report

The 2015-16 edition of the Montreal Canadiens continue to set records. And not in a good way.

For the first time in franchise history, the Habs gave up three short-handed goals in a game.

How the coach and general manager survive this season is beyond me. But this is Montreal.

Post-game, Michel Therrien declared himself blameless. After all, he is just coaching the players he is given. Yet fans point to success that castoffs have been having with their new teams.

It is a mess. An embarrassing mess.

The IceCaps lost on Saturday night making their slim playoff hopes even slimmer. This will not be a pleasant Spring for the fanbase.

The Canadiens are on the ice for a rare Sunday night date with the Calgary Flames.

Probably the upside of that, or the positive you can take out of it, is we have scored some shorthanded goals. But over the course of the year, our penalty kill hasn’t been good enough. It’s been good lately, but over the course of the year it hasn’t.“
• “Any time you get one shorthanded goal, you look at it as a bonus. To get three is kind of the exception.”
