Game Notes:
Depth. On a night when the Domi – Reinhart – Duclair line was less in the spotlight, it was Curtis Lazar and Connor McDavid each with three points who led Team Canada. McDavid thrilled and entertained the fans at the Air Canada Centre who were getting their first look at Team Canada.
Tournament over. Canadian forward Robby Fabbri suffered a high-ankle sprain after going down awkwardly in the first period. Fabbri is out for the remainder of the tournament.
Respect. With the score 6-0, captain Curtis Lazar instructed the bench not to celebrate any further goals. After the final horn, Team Canada allowed the Danes to salute the crowd before they went to centre ice.

Post-game Press Conference
Coach Benoit Groulx
“Connor [McDavid] needs that a little bit, a guy who can make plays with the puck. We want to balance our lines with speed and skills. It’s a disappointment for [Robby Fabbri], but [Brayden Point] has been good since camp opened. I don’t know the plan yet for Sunday, but Connor with Curtis [Lazar] and Brayden was solid.”
Curtis Lazar
“It’s huge. To get contributions from guys: [Nick] Ritchie, [Lawson] Crouse, [Nick] Paul, etc., that’s big for us especially we’re getting down to playing for keeps. … We need to get all guys going and firing on all cylinders.”
Max Domi
“[Connor McDavid] has been our best player the whole tournament. Sometimes the puck goes in for him, sometimes it doesn’t. Tonight it went in.”
Sam Reinhart
“Once we got the first one, we were able to relax and play our game. And the crowd really helped. I think we’re gaining more confidence with each win, but you can’t get too comfortable.”
Denmark coach Olaf Ellers
“It was too much for us to face in Canada with their speed and physicality. We faced an amazing team, which, with their speed and extremely quick transition game, killed us.”
