Post-game Press Conference |
- “When we scored our first goal I thought that we could build some momentum, but we took some penalties in the second period. Pittsburgh was the best team tonight. They played hard and they deserved success.”
- “No reason to leave [Carey Price] out there. He’s been a warrior for us all year long. They got some quality scoring chances. It was a situation where I had to protect my goalie rather than leave him in there.”
- “We were trying to be aggressive. [Pittsburgh] was quick. They were hungry to play. When you’re facing a team like that and you give them an opportunity to put their power play on the ice… We took some bad penalties and it will hurt you.”
- “[Nathan Beaulieu] played well. I thought that he skated well. He didn’t get beaten too much. He was moving the puck. I’m pleased with his game. We made some changes in the third period because we played him with [Andrei] Markov. They got better. [Nathan] Beaulieu had a good game.”
- “And Louis [Leblanc], it’s always a tough game to evaluate (players) when you are losing 5-to-1. I thought that he worked hard.”
- “[Andrei Markov and P.K. Subban] had a tough night.”
Forward Rene Bourque
- “We didn’t belong with that team the first two periods and we weren’t ready to play. We fed their power play too many times. Obviously, with skill like that, that’ll happen to you.”
- “You can’t let [Evgeni] Malkin carry the puck like that up the ice. It looked like he was playing a video game out there every time he went around us.”
