On Tuesday night, a goalie battle took place in the Bell Centre.  Ben Bishop and Carey Price defended their respective nets admirably, keeping pucks out until overtime.  Price needed to make some spectacular saves yet again, as his defensemen allowed the Lightning’s shooters to get in close to the crease.  Ultimately, Tampa Bay managed to knock in the only goal of the game.  Final score: Lightning, 1-0 (OT). The Canadiens next welcomed their neighbours the Ottawa Senators to town.  Max Pacioretty kicked things off on a positive note in the first period with a power play goal and a short-handed goal.  But the scoring stopped there for the Habs, while a struggling Sens team continued to put pressure on the Canadiens’ leaky defense.  Many fans headed for the exits after the Canadiens allowed a fifth goal against.  Final score: Senators, 5-2. The Habs traveled to Long Island for their final visit to Nassau Coliseum on Saturday night.  They kept things close in the opening frame against the Islanders, and finally found their scoring touch again in the second period.  Tomas Plekanec mustered his 20th goal of the season, and Pacioretty found the back of the net while on the penalty kill for the second consecutive game.  Lars Eller finished things off in the third period with an empty-netter.  Price kept the Islanders at bay yet again in this game, many times being forced to do most of the defending while his teammates took a spectator’s approach. Final score: Canadiens, 3-1. (Read our full recap here: Habs Back On Course Thanks To Price)

The Canadiens continue this road trip on Monday night with a trip to Tampa Bay to kick off a four-game week.  Until then, we’ve got plenty of content to keep you busy reading about your favourite team! In case you missed them, here are some fantastic articles published earlier this week:
