The Habs scored twice with the man advantage and were perfect on the penalty kill. It was a small step, but a step in the right direction none-the-less. The remodeling task taken on by interim head coach Dom Ducharme is a work in progress. Generating 5-on-5 offence is still an issue. The Habs managed just one high-danger scoring chance in the final 40 minutes of tonight’s game, just four in total for the entire contest. Jesperi Kotkaneimi was skating with a new-found confidence and drive reminiscent of his play in the bubble this past summer. Carey Price was solid with a 26-save win. Up NextPost-game, Marc Bergevin made another change to his coaching staff. The Canadiens fired goaltending coach Stephane Waite who has held the position since 2013. In his place, Bergevin appointed Sean Burke as the director of goaltending. Burke will complete a 14-day quarantine period before he joins the team. In the interim, Laval Rocket goaltending/video coach Marco Marciano will substitute. Burke has been working as a pro scout for the Canadiens. The Canadiens will practice Wednesday at 11:00 am. as they prepare for two games this week against the Winnipeg Jets.Plus▲ Carey Price, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Alexander Romanov, Jeff Petry, Brendan Gallagher, Tyler ToffoliMinus▼ Jake Evans, Paul ByronGame PreviewCheck out the game preview here: Senators @ Canadiens: Habs Begin Homestand |
