Needless to say, the injuries to Daniel Alfredsson and Mike Fisher are huge losses for the Ottawa Senators and their chances of getting into the playoffs. Even if they get there, you would have to think they wouldn’t get past the first round but I guess anything is possible in life…….just not in this case!! It certainly isn’t a fun time to be a Sens supporter as it’s gone from bad to worst in one game.
It makes you wonder if it’s worth playing some of the Canadiens key players against the Maple Leafs tomorrow night. Yes, winning the Eastern Conference title would be a satisfying accomplishment for the team and fans but at what cost to the longer term goal of advancing deep into the playoffs and a shot at the Stanley Cup. Can you imagine losing a player of Alex Kovalev’s stature or even a Plekanec, Markov……..anyhow, you get my point.
I’m not saying to call up the entire Bulldogs linup on the contrary but I would definitely play Matt D’Agostini, Mikhail Grabovski and Greg Stewart in place of some other important players………..food for thought!!!
