The Habs had difficulty generating offence all game long managing just five high-danger scoring chances through 60 minutes. It was a walk in the park for Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. Nick Suzuki was the only Canadien to score taking a perfect feed from Chris Wideman for a power-play goal. In addition to the assist, Wideman led the team in both blocked shots and penalty minutes. Minnesota did all the damage in the second period scoring three times with two goals coming from Kirill Kaprizov. Forwards Jonathan Drouin and Rem Pitlick slotted back in the lineup for this contest but did absolutely nothing to ensure their participation in Thursday night’s game. Juraj Slafkovsky made a rookie mistake late in the game when he stopped playing near the boards and was rocked by a stiff check from a much smaller Marco Rossi. Up NextThe Canadiens complete their four-game road trip with a stop in Winnipeg as they face the Jets on Thursday night.Plus▲ Kirby Dach, Chris Wideman, Nick Suzuki, Cole CaufieldMinus▼ Jonathan Drouin, Rem Pitlick, Christian Dvorak, David Savard, Sean Monahan, John Anderson, Brendan Gallagher, Jake Evans, Arber Xhekaj, Johnathan Kovacevic, Juraj SlafkovskyGame PreviewCheck out the game preview here: Looking for 3rd Straight Win | PREVIEW: MTL @ MIN |
