TRADE | Canadiens Acquire Forward Dwight King From Kings

MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has acquired forward Dwight King from the Los Angeles Kings in return for a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2018.

King, 27, participated in 63 games thus far this season with the Kings. He recorded 15 points (8 goals, 7 assists) and served 10 penalty minutes. King has averaged 14 minutes of ice time per game this year and amassed 96 hits.

The 6’4” and 229 lbs forward has played 348 career NHL regular season games since his debut in 2010-11. King has registered 108 points (52 goals, 56 assists) and 96 penalty minutes, while posting a +5 differential. He added two shorthanded goals and eight game-winning goals.

A product of the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes, King recorded 25 points (10 goals, 15 assists) in 69 playoff contests. He won the Stanley Cup twice with the Kings in 2012 and 2014.

A native of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, King was selected in the fourth round, 109th overall by the Kings at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
