TRADE | Montreal Canadiens Marc Bergevin  Trade Defenceman Marco Scandella to St. Louis Blues for a Second-Round Pick in 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Conditional 2021 Fourth-Round Pick

MONTREAL, QC. — On Tuesday, the Montreal Canadiens announced that general manager Marc Bergevin traded defenceman Marco Scandella to the St. Louis Blues for a second-round pick in 2020 and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2021.

The Canadiens have retained 50 percent of Scandella’s $4,000,000 salary in the deal with St. Louis.

The 29-year-old recorded one goal, two assists for three points in 20 games with the Canadiens. Prior to joining the Canadiens, Scandella tallied nine points in 31 games with the Buffalo Sabres earlier this season. 

On January 2nd, Scandella was acquired by the Canadiens for a 2020 fourth-round pick (San Jose Sharks.) He is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
