It’s that time of the year when teams start to dump ineffective player and their salaries off their cap total to prepare for potential trades after the holiday trade freeze (which was lifted after midnight on Dec.28th) and trade deadline coming up in February. I have a feeling we are going to see more NHL GMs dumping salary with trades being made further in advance of the trade deadline (so as to have a greater impact on their teams play and playoff chances).
