There was speculation that Pens GM Ray Shero was trying to trade Mark Recchi and allowed his agent to talk to other teams Recchi might be interested in playing for. I guess there was no interest in the 39 year old or at least no interest in giving up a player or draft pick in return, we’ll see if another team has interest in him now. I would be mildly surprised if he was picked up since age appears to have caught up with the future Hall of Famer (yes, I know that statement is debatable!!!) who has lost a couple of steps. There is also the question of being saddled for about half his salary at this time of the year.
