Video: Saku Koivu Scores His 2nd Career Hat-trick

Congratulations to Saku Koivu on his second career hat trick in Anaheim’s 5-2 win over Dallas. Koivu’s first hat trick was scored in a 5-4 overtime win for Montreal over Pittsburgh on November 18, 2002.

M. Lemieux (Penguins – C): Goals: 1, Assists: 2

D. Audette (Canadiens – RW): Goals: 1, Assists: 2

In the game against Pittsburgh, Koivu had two of the Habs three power-play goals and assisted on the third.  He also scored a goal short-handed.

“He won the game for Montreal tonight,” said Pittsburgh captain Mario Lemieux speaking of Koivu’s performance.

Donald Audette beat Penguins goaltender Johan Hedberg for the game winner in overtime.  Lemieux registered a goal and two assists facing Jose Theodore in the Montreal goal.
