MONTREAL, QC. — We’ve learned by now that Jacques Martin isn’t the most verbose coach in the NHL. He doesn’t always give the most complete answers when asked questions, and sometimes we as fans question his methods. In some ways, he’s uninteresting. But – dare I say it? – maybe he’s trying to remain a mystery to us.
You may have noticed the notebook he pulls out of his pocket from time to time during games. He seems to need it during especially dramatic moments, not unlike Horatio Caine’s sunglasses on CSI: Miami. (Corpse-appropriate wordplay not included.)
Using secret means that I under no circumstances can tell you about, I’ve been able to recover a few pages that Martin ripped out of his super-secret notebook of secrets. Consider yourselves lucky.
