A Look BackAlex Belzile energized the building with the first goal of his NHL career. The Canadiens did not slow down in the second period adding two more to the board, with Jordan Harris and Josh Anderson doing the damage. The Oilers showed a bit of life in the second period scoring two unanswered but it meant nothing as the Habs were able to shut down the offensive powerhouse scoring another three unanswered. Rafael Harvey-Pinard continued his hot streak with six goals in nine games. Harris was the first star with two goals on the night. Christian Dvorak broke a 20 game goalless drought. Game Expectations |
Although the Canadiens are dealing with a plethora of injuries, this hasn’t stopped the team from coming out and playing a strong brand of hockey. Players are getting more ice-time and more opportunities which has proven to be a positive note. The team should not discount the Blackhawks even if they are second last in the league, they have tough characters that can push teams around and will absolutely be giving the Habs a run for their money.
Bottom LineAfter two big wins at home, the Canadiens should look to add one more before hitting the road for a four game road trip.
