Rookie Game Wrap

On Tuesday, the Canadiens rookies played their third and final game of rookie camp  against the U Sports All-Stars at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard. the Canadiens rookies skated to a 5-3 win.

The Canadiens received goals from Joshua Roy, Mika Cyr, Brenden Sirizzotti, Isiah Campbell and Kaiden Guhle. Goaltender Joe Vrbetic picked up the win.

U Sports All-Stars vs Canadiens

Following the game, the team announced that the following rookies were invited to Canadiens main training camp: Tory Dello, Cedric Desruisseaux, Justin Ducharme, Gianni Fairbrother, Alexis Gravel, Kaiden Guhle, Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Cam Hillis, Jan Mysak, Mattias Norlinder, Joshua Roy, Xavier Simoneau, Daniil Sobolev, Joe Vrbetic, Arber Xhekaj, and Jesse Ylonen.

Training Camp Opens

The Montreal Canadiens announced that 70 players will participate in this year’s training camp which opens on September 22nd at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.

There will be no on-ice sessions on Wednesday as players will undergo medical exams and fitness evaluations.

Players have been divided into three groups: White, Red and C. All groups will be on the ice in Brossard starting on Thursday for practice. Canadiens first exhibition action is scheduled on Saturday night in Toronto against the Maple Leafs.

Canadiens Golf Tournament

The Canadiens annual golf tournament took place on Tuesday to support the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation. This year due to NHL protocols, Canadiens players and management were not allowed to attend the event. Instead, Canadiens alumni participated in the tournament at Laval-sur-le-Lac Golf Club.

Galchenyuk Signed

Arizona Coyotes have signed forward Alex Galchenyuk to a professional tryout contract on Tuesday. Galchenyuk will join Coyotes training camp.

The 27-year-old former Canadien spent last season with the Ottawa Senators and the Toronto Maple Leafs recording 13 points in 34 NHL games.

New Coyotes Rink

The Arizona Coyotes are proposing a development plan for a $1.7 billion arena and entertainment complex in Tempe, Arizona.

The plan includes an arena, restaurant, shops and apartments on a 46-acre tract of land along the south shore of the Salt River.
