CSN’s Keith Jones has said that the Flyers are courting Alex Tanguay from the Calgary Flames. The Flyers have already completed one trade with Calgary this week, sending Jim Vandermeer there for a 2009 third-round pick. Post Game Live analyst Chris Therien recently said that the Flyers may also go after star forward Brad Richards from Tampa Bay. That would give the Flyers a potent Richards-Richards combo.

I doubt Paul Holmgren has the cap space to make this move beyond this season…….maybe he’s looking to deal some salary now as well as in the off season to carry Tanguay’s or Richards salary.
I don’t see how the Flyers will be able to turn things around with any of these potential acquisitions as they need more help keeping the puck out of their net than they do putting it in the net!!!!
