He’s as good as gone before next season starts……..it might even happen before this season is over if Emery causes any further problems in the locker room.

They could demote Emery and call up goaltender Brian Elliott from Binghamton who may lack NHL playing experience but certainly didn’t look out of place when he was called up earlier in the season (granted he only played one game but he made 28 saves in a 3-1 win over the Thrashers). Elliott is considered a great student of the game, very athletic and has a reputation for working his tail off everyday, something Emery doesn’t understand.

Personally, I don’t see it happening this season as Bryan Murray will want to have Ray Emery as an insurance policy in case Martin Gerber falters or gets injured before the playoffs. Emery has had a poor season but he did help bring the Senators to last year’s Stanley Cup finals……….needless to say, Murray has Emery’s experience from last year’s playoffs to fall back on……let’s just hope he works hard in the practices (allegedly he left practice 30 minutes early last week) to remain sharp if/when the call to start comes in the future.
