Habster’s take:
Mathieu Carle definitely has a lot of offensive upside to his game and has a cannon of a shot. His skating and foot speed have greatly improved from being average to very good which will just add to his overall game. Carle will play with the Hamilton Bulldogs this season and should give coach Don Lever a solid powerplay quarterback along with Mathieu Biron/Marvin Degon.
If Carle can play a solid two way game and get some powerplay points along the way, he might get an injury call-up or at the least, get a serious look for the 2008-09 Canadiens’ roster.
