Canadiens recall netminder Robert Mayer and forward Gabriel Dumont from the Hamilton Bulldogs

MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens announced Tuesday that goaltender Robert Mayer and forward Gabriel Dumont have been recalled from the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs. Both players will join the team in Montreal for the game on Wednesday, April 4 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Robert Mayer, who hails from Havirov, Czech Republic, is playing his second season with Hamilton after spending his last two junior years with the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. In 2011-12 Mayer played 35 games with the Bulldogs holding a 12-16-0-1 record. He displays a 3.02 GAA along with a .906 save percentage. Mayer played in the ECHL with Cincinnati in 2009-10 where he earned the playoffs MVP. The 6’1’’ and 192 lbs goaltender joined the Canadiens as a free agent on September 25, 2008.
Born in Ville Dégelis, Québec, Gabriel Dumont, recorded 22 points (13 goals and 9 assists) in 55 games thus far this season with the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate. Five of his goals came with the man advantage and he tallied a goal while playing shorthanded. The 5’10’’ and 189 lbs forward directed 135 shots at the opposing net and served 51 penalty minutes. The Canadiens’ fifth round selection, 139th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Dumont was in his second season with the Bulldogs in 2011-12 after four seasons with Drummondville where he earned 93 points, including 51 goals in his last year with the Voltigeurs in 2009-10.

(reserved for us) Sat. morning breakfast, visit the Hab’s Hall of Fame, tour of the Bell Center, Pre game dinner and charity raffle at a major restaurant. Sat.night game and a back to the pub to celebrate. Special hotel prices and everything is a 5 min walk.
