Carey Price earns Molson Cup honour for January

MONTREAL – Netminder Carey Price is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of January (17 points). He earns this honour for the fourth consecutive month this season after winning it in October, November and December.
Price was selected the first star of the game five times (on January 3 at Pittsburgh, January 20 against Nashville, January 27 versus Dallas, January 29 at New York against the Rangers and January 31 facing Washington), and the second star once (January 10 against Pittsburgh). Price finished ahead of teammates Max Pacioretty and Tomas Plekanec.
The 27-year old goaltender showed a 7-1-1 record in nine games in January, ranking tied for second among NHL goaltenders in wins. Price finished second with a 1.53 goals against average (behind Steve Mason) and a .951 save percentage (trailing Calvin Pickard), stopping 269 of the 283 shots he faced. He led the NHL with two shutouts (tied with six goaltenders). He was named the NHL First Star for the week ending on February 1.
Carey Price will be presented with the Molson Cup during a ceremony prior to the Tuesday, February 3 game against the Buffalo Sabres at the Bell Centre.
