  2. From Marilou (via Twitter):

About 5 minutes before game #3 (Canucks vs. Kings), I abruptly ran quickly or even speedily to the washroom… The reason for this turning point? I had to make sure no one would see me, needing some all of a sudden emergency space. When shutting the door I instantly shed a load of tears was bawling like no mercy in silence! Yep! Al because I was fearing another loss! After a min of this very intense reaction, I hurried to recompose though! Then, I went on to join my friend as if nothing had happened! :P Ya right! As if my friends did not see how much mascara had disappeared! ;-) Btw, #ThankYou so much for this wonderful year! #ILoveReadingU

  3. 1994: First time I saw my Canucks make it to the finals. Nathan Lafayette hits the post which could have tied the game in game 7. Canucks lose despite coming back from being down 3-1 in the series. As a 14 year old boy, I figured it would be the last time I cried.

2011: Canucks go up 2-0 in the series against the Bruins. Eventually blow the series by being blown out in every game in Boston. I cried once again.

  4. I was a big Nordiques fan growing up.. I have never hurt so much as the day they moved away. That really, really, hurt.

But mostly, as a child, I fell in love with the game. I’ve moved on from my dear Nordiques, but will love the game forever.

  5. Whenever my two favourite teams play against each other (the Habs and the Flyers) it HURTS! It’s like heartbreak when they battle on the ice!

  6. From Nicholas (via Twitter):

My hockey love hurts story is the Canadiens disastrous season this year Ughhh embarrassing. #AllHabs #hockeylovehurts

  7. The Habs tend to get eliminated from the playoffs around my birthday. In 2008, I delayed my birthday party by a few weeks because I was in exams. The Flyers eliminated them the day after my party – as if I didn’t already have a headache from the night before. That definitely hurt.

  8. My “Hockey Love Hurts” stories:
Playoffs 2007-2008 season: May 3, 2008 when the Flyers beat the Habs 6-4.and eliminated them……painful birthday…..:(

June 29, 1990 when Chris Chelios was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks…….tears flowed…:(

  9. My #HockeyLoveHurts happened back in 1995, when my then favourite player, Patrick Roy, let me down by requesting a trade in front of the cameras. #AllHabs

  10. My #hockeylovehurts story would have to be the day that my favorite Montreal Canadien and who I wanted to “be” when I grew up got traded, Chris Chelios remained my favorite player for a long time but it was so hard to love him knowing he played for a different team.

  11. From Robert (via Twitter):

My #HockeyLoveHurts will always be the Justin Williams high-stick on Saku Koivu in Game 3 of the Montreal-Carolina playoff series in 2006. #allhabs

  12. From Steven (via Twitter):

My #hockeylovehurts moment has to be Nov 29th,2009, when Montreal traded Latendresse to Minnesota for…#sniff.. Benoit Pouliot :( #allhabs

  13. From Oli (via Twitter):

After PK had tied it up in the last minutes of the game 7 to send it to OT, then losing #hockeylovehurts #AllHabs #devastated

  14. From Simon (via Twitter):

My #AllHabs #HockeyLoveHurts moment is when Réjean Houle decided to trade my favorite Habs player, Patrick Roy.
