Players to Watch

  • Joel Edmundson
Edmundson scored his first goal of the season after making a great play jumping into the rush. It will take some time for Edmundson to return to the player he once was on the Habs backend.
  • Jake Allen
Allen hasn’t been on top of his game his last few starts. Allen needs to have a strong game to maintain his confidence.
  • Kirby Dach
While Dach scored the shootout winner, his game was very quiet for someone who had a lot of motivation playing his former team. One shot on goal is simply not enough.

Keys to Victory

  • Use speed
The Habs have had a few days off and will need to start this game fast using their speed and be ready right from puck drop.
  • Limit turnovers
This is a game that if the Habs focus they should be able to play mistake free hockey and have no turnovers.
  • Shoot the puck
High quality shots are always a key to win but the Habs need to keep it simple at times and put the puck on the net more often.

Pre-game Quotes
Marty St. Louis

  • “I’m very happy with where we are. It’s not like we’re perfect, but I like how we’re improving in every facet of the game. We don’t look at the standings. There will be a time in the year when we may watch it, but we are not there yet.”

 Game Expectations
The Sharks have lost three straight coming into tonight’s action while the Habs are looking to win their third straight. The Sharks have benefited from Erik Karlsson finding his game again and the Habs will have to be careful.

Bottom Line

This is a game the Habs should win and the offense should be able to take over.
