It’s a ashamed that there is a lingering bitterness between Larry Robinson and the Canadiens concerning his number being retired and raised to the rafters. The retirement of a player’s jersey number, especially a Montreal Canadiens jersey, should be an incredibly special moment in a player’s career. It should be a moment of reflection whereby a player like Robinson can reminisce about his hockey career with his entire family by his side. Unfortunately, Larry Robinson won’t have his father, mother or brother there tomorrow night to watch as his famous #19 is raised to the rafters of the Bell Centre but I can guarantee they will be in his thoughts throughout the ceremony.
Big Bird, your long awaited and well deserved jersey #19 will be be raised along with the other Canadiens greats while your Dad, Mom and Brian look on from above with love, admiration and big smiles!!!!!
