Game Report

Staying up late proved to be worthwhile for Habs fans in the Eastern time zone. After a game that was territorially dominated by Arizona, the Canadiens left Tempe with a 3-2 win. Mike Hoffman ended the contest just over a minute into overtime.

Following a scoreless first period, Cole Caufield scored just 49 seconds into the second frame. Montreal’s lead was short-lived as Clayton Keller evened the score just 35 seconds later.

Three minutes later, Christian Dvorak scored against his former team as he redirected an Arber Xhekaj point shot. Another three minutes went by until Matias Maccelli used his speed to tie the score once again.

And that’s the way the scoreboard remained until Hoffman delivered the Canadiens 15th win of the season.

The Canadiens head to Denver to face the Avalanche on Wednesday night.
