Bob Gainey has lost out on the Marian Hossa sweepstakes and rightfully didn’t want to play the King’s ransom that Ray Shero paid for Hossa’s services. Pittsburgh overpaid for a rental player and Don Waddell made out like a bandit by adding some very good players in Armstrong, Esposito and Christensen……….and a 2008 1st round pick to boot!!!!
The Penguins also overpaid for lead footed Todd Gill by giving the Leafs a 2008 2nd and 5th round picks. This is a huge gamble by Ray Shero especially if the Pens don’t get far in the playoffs.
