It’s Time To Find Out What Jagr’s Worth

Habster:

Larry Brooks makes a lot of sense when he suggests that Glen Sathers should throw Jaromir Jagr’s name into the other NHL general managers laps and ask them if they’re interested and if they are, what would they be willing to offer for his services.

Jagr will most likely become an UFA at season’s end unless he can have an incredible finish to a somewhat lackluster season. He needs 37 points in the final 24 games to hit the 84 point mark to have the final year of his contract kick in at a cool $8.3 million otherwise he becomes a UFA.

I wonder how much it would cost to get Jagr and would Bob Gainey and the Canadiens be interested in acquiring him to play on Saku Koivu’s line. You would have to think it would cost the same as trading for Marian Hossa or Mats Sundin: Higgins, a top prospect and a first round pick…….too rich for my taste……especially if Jagr is gone after July 1st.
