I was listening to Pierre McGuire talking to the Team 990’s Mitch Melnick at 17h30 and McGuire was privy to information regarding who the Flames were pursuing on the Canadiens. He was respectfully tight lipped about who the Habs players were but did state Calgary wasn’t interested in Michael Ryder. Don’t forget, Pierre McGuire and Mike Keenan are extremely close friends, confiding in each other for advice so I’m sure McGuire knows who the Flames would be willing to give up as well as who they would want in return. He did indicate that the Canadiens have an abundance of speed on their NHL/AHL rosters which is something the Flames are lacking in their lineup while the Canadiens could use some more veteran grit.
