    Newsday:
Notes & quotes: D Brendan Witt skated Friday after missing one game with a sprained knee but likely will not play against the Canadiens. D Bruno Gervais (concussion) did not skate and might be done for the season

    Habster:
Ted Nolan has had to juggle his lineup most of the season due to injuries (301 man games so far this season and counting). The Islanders have depleted the Bridgeport Tigers (AHL affiliate) roster of players throughout the season because of these injuries.

The Islanders were surprising a lot of hockey pundits with their good start to first half of the season but have tailed off considerably with the injuries situation and their inability to produce offense. The Islanders have only scored 172 goals this season which ranks them 29th in the NHL. They are also tied with Columbus for the lowest goals for average in the league at 2.39 goals/game. If you’re not scoring, it puts a ton of pressure on your goaltending and defense to keep the score low.
    Tonight’s prediction:
    Montreal 4
    Islanders 1
