There has to be some sort of explanation for this incident maybe misinformation on the part of the complainant and/or the police…or maybe bad judgement and a lot of drinking.
You have to wonder why in the world an NHL player like Ryan O’Byrne, making in the neighbourhood of $590,000, would want to steal a woman’s purse with $20 and a cell phone in it?
It just doesn’t make any sense…….something doesn’t add up here. I’ve got a feeling that O’Byrne may have picked up the discarded purse outside the club when he was spotted by the bouncer(s). Why or if he stated it was his girlfriend’s purse still remains a mystery. What I do know is that any person charged with a crime, rightfully or wrongfully, is presumed innocent until proven otherwise so let’s keep an open mind with regards to this incident until further details are made public after today’s practice and/or when O’Byrne and Kostopoulos have their day in court.
